innd wouldn´t start

Hi all!

[I´m very new to all the nntpd "stuff" - especially innd ;) ]

I´ve got a problem with innd-2.2.2 running on a linux-2.2.14 system.
(gcc: Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-suse-linux/2.95.2/specs
gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release))

The problem is:
Apr  6 16:30:38 lisa innd: SERVER cant dbzinit /usr/local/news/db/history No such file or directory

but ls -al /usr/local/news/db/history looks fine:
-rw-rw-r--  1 news  news    0 Apr  5 17:21 /usr/local/news/db/history

Befor I tried to start inndstart I´ve already done 
makehistory -i
chmod 664 *
and rc.news
rc.news logs that error message, too. 

Hmm... maybe there´s a big mistake in innd.conf - I´m not sure. But the error report
from innd "No such file or directory" isn´t a very likely hint.

(sorry for my bad english - hope it´s a little bit funny)
