Hallo,
I have installed inn-2.2.2 from scratch.
After doing all the steps from INSTALL I try inncheck and get:
news at gateway:~/db > inncheck -perm
/usr/local/news/bin/rnews:0: in group uucp, should be news
/usr/local/news/bin/rnews:0: mode 4550, should be 2555
/usr/local/news/bin/inndstart:0: owned by root, should be news
/usr/local/news/db/history:0: mode 664, should be 644
/usr/local/news/db/history.dir:0: mode 664, should be 644
/usr/local/news/db/history.index:0: mode 664, should be 644
/usr/local/news/db/history.hash:0: mode 664, should be 644
/usr/local/news/bin/tally.unwanted:0: missing
/usr/local/news/bin/control/docheckgroups:0: missing
/usr/local/news/bin/rnews.libexec:0: ERROR: illegal file `gunbatch' in
directory
But as INSTALL the history permissions are correct.
When it finished, you need to move history.n* to history*.
Finally, set the file permissions on all of the files you just created:
chmod 0664 *
If I change the inndstart owner -> I get "inndstart cant bind"
What are the correct permissions for history files?
Why is gnubatch an illegal file? (Is installed from "make install"!)
