I've cut the release branch at the time in the subject line. The branch
tag is STABLE-2_3; the point on the main branch where the release branch
was split off is tagged with STABLE-2_3-branch (having the latter tag is
handy for doing things like getting all log messages from the point when
the branch was made to the current date).
Any additional bug fixes for the 2.3.0 release should be committed to both
the STABLE-2_3 branch and the main branch.
My current plan is:
Starting tonight, a third nightly snapshot will show up in the ftp.isc.org
snapshots directory marked inn-BETA-<date>; these will be the 2.3.0
release candidate snapshots. Those of you who are doing testing, please
try them out if you can and let the mailing list know of any problems you
encounter. I'm going to make a public announcement of beta testing
sometime after I'm sure the snapshots are working right.
My expectation is to release 2.3.0 within a couple of weeks, and to change
the version number on the main branch to 2.4.0 pre-release. Shortly after
2.3.0 is released, we'll release 2.2.3 incorporating the last fixes on the
STABLE-2_2 branch, at which point the STABLE-2_2 branch will be considered
closed barring any drastic security holes.
Let me know if there are any problems with the above, or if anyone else
has any other ideas on how to do this; we'll make it up as we go along. :)
