I am using tab in /etc/syslog.conf
and I tried to remove the entry from the /etc/inetd.conf and when I restart
I can't telnet to the port 119 at the server.
There was no response.

Are you using tabs or spaces. Syslog only works with tabs.

If you are using rc.news you don't need a inetd entry.
