yes. note that the RPM package for innd is compiled without largefile
support, so you're limited to 2 GiB cycbuffs and history file. this
is usually not a problem, but it is trivial to download the src.rpm,
change the options to configure in the spec-file, and rebuild the RPM.

yes. ext3 with data=ordered (the default) will be fine.
