Tony,
The appending of domain names is a resolver (client) responsibility,
although I have seen some nameservers apply their domain to an
unqualified name.
In unix, this is done with the search directive in resolv.conf
In WIN 95/98/NT, this is done in the network configuration of the box
under domain suffix search order.
Yes... This is a problem in DHCP, as DHCP does not have an option for a
searchlist.
