Malformed address

I have two dns servers that both when down and I am trying to figure out why.
The error that I am receiving below doesn't seem to be listed as catastrophic
in the DNS & BIND book. Has anyone had named just locked up when this type of
packet was returned to their dns server?

Aug 28 07:15:14 <nameserver> named[19327]: Malformed response from
[192.35.82.50].53 (out of data in final pass)
