	This is very vendor/provider specific. Some cable modems have
	upstream capacity of 5Mbps or more and downstream capacity of
	27Mbps or more (at least under the newer DOCSIS standard).

	The 33.6 probably relates specifically to the providers method of
	bandwith provisioning and should not be assumed to be the same
	for all cable modems/providers.

	Also, since you specifically meantion a speed particularly related
	to Telephone Modems, it is possible that the Cable modem is using 
	telco return (also vendor/provider specific). Such cable modems
	exist in the absence of a fully two-way cable network. Some
	operators have begun rebuilding their network to make it two-way
	to avoid the telco return issue.
