Cannot stop/start new BIND 8.2.1

	Well if it never started why did you try to stop it?

	You could well have started named directly rather than use ndc
	so the question was not unreasonable expecially as you were tring
	to stop named.  Named starts directly from boot scripts.

	What did ndc report when you tried to start it?

	Did you perform "make install" or install by hand?  You did install
	it as /usr/sbin/named?

	You did not answer my question.  I asked what was running.  You
	would be suprised at the number of times the new named was not
	actually installed.
