Solaris 2.6 and BIND 4.9.x

I have a server with a solaris 2.6 OS and BIND 4.9.x (.3 or .4?).  When I 
pimg the box from a DOS location on the Internet somewhere, if I send 24 
packets it sends back 24 packets.  If I ping from a UNIX box somewhere on the 
Internet I get back duo pings.  Does this have anything to do with bind or 
does anyone have any idea.

Here is an example of the ping from a UNIX box.
