I'm a newbie of DNS and Bind, but I easily manged to set up my own dns
service reading this:

  DNS HOWTO  by Nicolai Langfeldt janl at math.uio.no

It is really well done, and if you just follow instructions carefully, your
DNS will work just fine.

Check www.linuxberg.com or any Linux related site, and you will find an
index of howto's (including this one)
