Private network DNS setup problems

   The logs are all kept in the /var/log direcory.  Many of the logs are
only readable if you are root.  The file to look at that contains the logs
for named is '/var/log/messages'.  

   I prefer to open a root window and type: 'tail -f /var/log/messages'

   This will tail the last several lines of the file, and any new entries
to the messages file will also be sent to this screen.  Use a ^c
(control-c) to stop the output.
