DDNS & .ixfr file size

I've got bind 8.2.2 working with dynamic DNS updates from DHCP.  Running
into a problem with the .ixfr log files growing to very large sizes. 
What is the proper way to keep them from being a problem.  I've got them
>20 Meg in size.
