Another 'free dns', need your help...

Question...I am in the process of designing a version the 'free DNS' idea
like at Granite Canyon. Could you send me the following?
1. A feature list. What would you like to see implemented that Granite
Canyon does not or improvements to how they do things.
2. How many (approx) hosts you would register, or total records by type.
Trying to figure the volume.
3. How would you like to access the application? Would you like a desktop
app to work with, or does the web model work well enough. I am building a
VB app for testing, if there is demand for a desktop app, I will polish it a
bit.
4. I am planning on having updates happen every 8-12 hours, or is there a
more helpful timeframe (besides hourly)?
5. Do you like the paste in your file method, or would another interface
work better? I am toying with drop-down type boxes for some of the input
(that is what the VB app has).
6. Anything else that might be helpful that I forgot to mention.

My goal is to have this site totally 'self managing' other than normal
issues that arise.

P.S. - I am finishing up the site for user registration (but no DNS setups)
and suggestions. The URL is http://www.urban-dns.org, it is not up now, but
will be shortly, probably w/in the next 1-2 weeks. And depending on the
features that are requested, I hope to have the site up by the end of
October, middle of November at the latest.

Thanks in advance for your help...

If most of the people who use granitecanyon were to pay $10 a year, there
wouldn't be a problem, and I'm sure a lot of people would be willing.
Trouble is, just sending them $10 in the hope that everybody else will
spontaneously have the same thought seems like a waste of time. Any ideas?

Cheers,
        Paul.
