Logging with HUP not working?

Many thanks for this, I went through the archives but did not think of
looking in the CHANGES file. In there it has:

 762.   [support]       don't rotate log file versions on server startup.

(Under an 8.2.2 version).

Unfortunately since we automate the DNS rebuilds I want to use 'swatch' to
monitor the log files and hence need to know when to HUP swatch so that it
picks up the new log files after rotation. I'll have to think about this, but
you are correct that version and size together does do the rotation.
