Er, don't shut down your computer at night?
If there was some way of restoring an old cache - "old" is the
operative word here! - it would be a largely futile exercise. By the
time you put back the cache the next day, most of the cached data will
have expired. The feature could maybe be useful for debugging or
troubleshooting purposes, but not for routine operation. Expecting the
name server's cache to persist across reboots is a bit like expecting
TCP connections to be preserved across reboots too. After all the name
server's cache is a transient data structure.
