While I have lots of respect for the folks at Nominum, it would be
reasonable to point out an alternate view.

	The Bind penetration numbers you cite may be a bit high.
	Only (relatively) recently has bind had the support
		that you mention. For most of its life it was
		"open-source".
	A monoculture codebase has its own problems. I am greatful
		that lucent, microsoft, ultradns, cisco, and even djb
		have contributed to the DNS "genepool".
