No. You have to fix this. A name that exists as a CNAME cannot exist
as any other record type. RFC1034 has been saying this for over a
decade. [Well if Secure DNS is in use, the CNAME is allowed to have an
NXT and SIG record and maybe a KEY record too.] Previous versions of
BIND were too tolerant of these sorts of errors. Just bite the bullet
and nuke either the MX or CNAME. It might be possible to replace the
CNAME with an A record.
