ping and nslookup return different IP???

"ping" uses the system default resolver order, whereas nslookup on most platforms (I think
HP-UX is an exception) uses *only* DNS. Do you by any chance have an entry for the host in
/etc/hosts, NIS or some other naming source, which has precedence over DNS in the resolver
order?
