And so are we, Philip Hazel's establishment, and thank you for drawing
the problem to our attention just hours before it bit us!

Alternatively, the back-tick generated string could be chomped.

Alternatively again, and what is in fact in 0.32, is to use
perl's localtime and sprintf the pieces.
