BIND 2.2.2P5 compile errors on Solaris2.6 (solution)

I saw couple of posts without answers to 

gcc -g -O2   -o addr addr.o \
        ../../lib/libbind.a -ll -lnsl -lsocket
ld: fatal: file values-Xa.o: cannot open file: No such file or directory

problem.  I run into the same thing while compiling on Sol2.6.
Installing SUNWarc, which includes /usr/ccs/lib/values-Xa.o,
solved the problem.
