I'm getting closer - I can do a nslookup but I can't ping - huh?

Why is dns after networks?  ;-?

Do you have a "domain" in your /etc/resolv.conf?

If all else fails, try putting "options debug" in /etc/resolv.conf.

Or give me a login on your machine.  ;-/  I'm puzzled.

Hmmm ... what are the permissions on /etc/resolv.conf and
/etc/nsswitch.conf?
