in.named hogging CPU?

Hope that someone has seen this before.

Solaris 7 running as a DNS server.
As soon as in.named it eats up more and more CPU cycles.
Truss shows in.named in a constant poll,read,poll, read type of loop.

I have installed the Solaris 7 recommended patches plus a couple
directly
associated with named.

Previously had a problem with memory leak and in.named but that was
fixed
with on of the named patches. Now its the CPU's turn.

Has anyone seen this or can someone point me in a general direction to
look
for resolution to the problem?
