I think you are correct. You need to create the glue record so the
parent domain is aware of the sub-domain. An NS record such as

myhouse.microsoft.com. IN NS serverb.myhouse.microsoft.com.

and an A record

serverb.myhouse.microsoft.com. IN A 123.123.123.123
