It looks like you need to go on some UNIX System Administration
courses or read a book on the subject. The ps command tells you what
processes are running and the rm command removes files. However it
might be an idea to study how things like the name server gets started
at boot time and also apply some simple change control procedures. You
shouldn't just add and remove files without recording what was done
and why it was done.
