Bind 8.2.2-P5 problem

I recently upgraded 4 slave servers and 1 master from 8.1.2 to 8.2.2-P5. 
Lookups work perfectly from the slave servers, but on the master I cannot 
resolve NQDN, only FQDN. What changed that would cause this behavior? Lookups 
work fine under 8.1.2.
