I guess that in some machine cache or memory, old IP is still there, after
the TTL
is expired, all machine will consisted have your new IP.

Subject: Why is ping returning old IP?

Good morning all,

I have assigned a new IP address in an existing domain record. By updating
PTR
record, A record. Also, incremented the zone files serial # and restarted
all
DNS servers (RHAT 7.0). Now here is my scenario, nslookup returning
expected
IP but pinging from two different networks, one is reading new IP and other
is
reading old IP.

Checked with NSI but there is no host record mapped old IP address.

I have been looking into DNS Bind by O'REILLY and reading previous
discussions
but nothing useful to help me to solve this problem

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have a good day.
