upgrade from 4.9.5 to Bind 8.2.2p5

I'm no WinTel expert, but it sounds to me like you might still be using an old
BIND 4.x version of nslookup which issues IQUERY on startup, and the BIND 8
server doesn't support IQUERY.

Just a guess...
