You must have name server records.  They must match what your parent
says.  Ah!  See more at bottom.

(a) You say "$ORIGIN us.", but I suspect you have "$ORIGIN com.". In
any case, what you say you have would put all the data in domain
"co.hamblen.tn.us.us.".  Which would be rejected if your named.conf is
set up properly.

Get rid of all the "$ORIGIN"s.  They are unnecessary and misleading.

Use "co.hamblen.tn.us." or, better, "@" as the first symbol in your
SOA.

(b) Your MX record, as written, tries to find and send mail to
"co.hamblen.tn.us.co.hamblen.tn.us.us.".  It is missing a trailing
dot.
