DNS problems

Okay, that should allow them to answer queries in the "domainname.com"
zone independently of whether the master is up or not. If that's not
happenning, then turn on debugging to find out why.

Or, when you said "stop working", did you mean that *all* queries to those
boxes stop working, even ones not in "domainname.com"? In that case, you'd
need to explain a little bit more about how queries get resolved in your
setup. Do you have an internal root? Do you forward? Do you have a split
namespace? That's why I asked about forwarding in my first response.
