Secondary Mailserver problem

I not sure if this belongs in the dns list or not

I have mail server A that has always been the only mail server.

I installed mail server B and moved all users to it and configured it to
be the primary mail server.

I then set the mx records as

	mx	10 mailserverB.xxx.com
	mx	20	mailserverA.xxx.com

I expected A to forward its existing mail to B

new mail is routing properly to B but there is still old mail on A that
is not getting delivered.

B is configured to accept mail for the domain and does.

any ideas on what the problem is, I have gone over the sendmail.org
site, the bind archives and the cricket book.

If this isnt the right place for this question please refer

Thanks in advance.
