You can call the file whatever you want, it's the file that's used as the
hint zone for the root servers.

The guy who said you need to put the entry in the root.cache file was
wrong.  That file is only used for priming the root server list, not for
finding other top-level domains.

If you want your server to forward to a particular server for a specific
zone, whether it's at the top-level or not, just put a "type forward" zone
in the named.conf.  If you want it to forward for all zones except the ones
that it's authoritative for, put "forwarders" in the options statement.
