Trouble with 8.2.3

I'm having some trouble with a recently upgraded name server. Named crashed 
with the following error message:

Feb  6 09:16:21 netserv1 named[3476]: ev_timers.c:114: 
INSIST(now.tv_usec >= 0 && now.tv_usec < 1000000) failed.
Feb  6 09:16:22 netserv1 named[3476]: ev_timers.c:114: 
INSIST(now.tv_usec >= 0 && now.tv_usec < 1000000) failed.

I compiled the 8.2.3 version locally on an IBM RS_6000 model 250 running 
AIX 4.3 using all default values.

A similar machine also exhibits the same problem. However, a third similar 
machine using the same named.conf and same compiled version of 8.2.3 has 
not failed. Any tips would be helpful.
