Host map: lookup deferred

Hello,
I am having a problem with sendmail trying to do host
mapping for internet host.
Our dns server is running a bind version 8.2.3 and the
sendmail v 8.11.1.   

The following is the error message that I get when I
run the mailq command:

f1MDlqT25200   98 Thu Feb 22 7:00 <xxx at xxxx.com>
        (host map: lookup (xxxx.com): defereed)

Any advices :)
