Watching bind8nt via SNMP??

Probably not. The MIB for name servers has been deprecated and there's
no support for SNMP (=>ASN1 cruft) in BIND. I suppose it might be
possible to make your SNMP software monitor whether the name server
process is running or not. If so, that would probaby be as far as you
could go with SNMP and a name server.
