Hello.

We're running BIND 8.2.3 on Solaris 7.

Problem: Yesterday one of our nameservers stopped answering queries.

The named process was still up and running with about 13Mb of space, as
usual. CPU usage was also very low, as usual. However dig queries against
the server returned no answer.

We noticed the log file contained several messages like these:

09-Jul-2001 11:59:05.941 default: info: tcp_send: bind(query_source):
Permission denied
09-Jul-2001 11:59:07.299 default: info: tcp_send: bind(query_source):
Permission denied
09-Jul-2001 11:59:07.871 default: info: tcp_send: bind(query_source):
Permission denied

After those messages, there were also lots of the following entries:

09-Jul-2001 12:02:47.389 default: info: sysquery: nlookup error on ?
09-Jul-2001 12:02:47.437 default: info: sysquery: nlookup error on ?
09-Jul-2001 12:02:47.442 default: info: sysquery: nlookup error on ?

Questions:
1) Is such issue known?
2) Do new versions (8.2.4, 8.2.5-T1A or 8.3.0-T1A) fix it?
3) Should I file a bug report on this?

Thanks,
Everton
