Look at the namedroppers archives, from 6/18/01 to 6/30/01 under the Subject:
line "RFC 2782: SRV naming convention", especially Vixie's message on 6/20
(summary: DNS must be "coherent", and BIND 9's "view"s don't violate this
because they are "intended for use by disparite[sic] reachability domains")
and Rob Austein's message of 6/29 (summary: you can do this if and only if
you increment the SOA serial whenever the zone visibly "changes").
