nslookup says 127.0.0.1 is non-existant host/domain?

Not much to go on here. Do you have a reverse zone defined in named.conf that contains a
1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa PTR record?
Perhaps it would be easiest to just post your named.conf file (unless it's huge) and the
relevant reverse zonefile.
