	No, they're afraid you'll drive off with it still stuck in your 
car, and rip the hose right off the pump, thus potentially spilling 
hundreds or thousands of gallons of fuel on the ground, and causing a 
colossal hazard to the public safety.

	Why else do you think that some guy patented the emergency 
cut-off valve that you see on virtually every hose at virtually every 
gas station?
