There is no "bind 8.2.5". You probably mean BIND 8.2.2-p5. That version has horrible security exploits and it was probably hacking attempts that
crashed your nameserver and/or box. Upgrade to 8.2.3 at the very least, if not 8.2.4 or BIND 9 (not sure whether BIND 9 is available on your platform
or not).
