MX Record/DNS help needed

No, the machine doesn't have to be set up as a nameserver.  You can ask
your ISP to operate the name servers for your domain.

This whole thread started because you're already set up as a nameserver, so
I think we assumed this was done intentionally.  If you don't want to
operate your own nameserver, you can find someone else to host your
domain.  You'll need to update the registration of the domain to point to
their servers instead of yours.
