I Need Names Server Help.

HI,
I am just learning the concept of Names Server. Now I have been given a task 
to maintain all the files on Names Server. I have to prapare the Database, 
and do some programming , so that the database will handel all the files on 
Names Server. IBM DB2 will be used as database. Can anybody tell me how the 
Database structure will look ? , Is there any appropriate documentation 
which can help me ?
