	Well ping uses the whatever name resolution services
	(/etc/hosts, NIS, DNS etc.) that you have told the system
	to use.

	nslookup talks directly to the DNS using whatever servers
	are configured in /etc/resolv.conf or 127.0.0.1/0.0.0.0
	if it doesn't exist.

	Well what were the names involved?

	Well it would help is named was allowed to listen to
	any interfaces on this box.

	You don't have a reverse zone covering your private lan.
