Bind-9.2.0 - RH7.1 build

Built Bind-9.2.0 on a RH7.1 system using the following commands

./configure --prefix=/usr
make
make install

When executing named

/usr/sbin/named -d 2

named fails with a file not found message when attempting to open
/usr/etc/named.conf
The expected directory for named.conf is /etc not /usr/etc.

What do I need to do to get this to compile so that it looks for named.conf
in /etc??
