What is the problem? This is completely normal when there is no such
domain. (I for one cannot see anything strange in it, at least.)

That is what NXDOMAIN means.

What answer do you expect?

I'm sorry? It did not reply with any DNS servers in the dig output you
showed us.

And as far as clients go they don't care about "master" and "slave"
DNS servers. All they care about is whether they are authorative or
not. Master and slave (formerly primary and secondary) are just roles
assigned by the administrator to make management easier.
