how to forcefully refresh the cache?

Hi guys,

I have this problem:  i have this 8.2 BIND server which my machines references as the DNS server. sometimes when external domain entries update their records, my DNS server seems to be very slow in recognising the change.

Sometimes I want to get the BIND server to reflect the change immediately. I think one of the ways is to force a refresh of the cache. I tried restarting the server (via webmin), but it doesn't help. In the end, I had to reboot the server.

Is there any other way I can clear the cache without taking such a drastic action?
