Thanks - I hear what you are saying about introducing anew type. Ans yes this something that needs to be done on the fly.
I feel reasonably confident about writing the parsing routines but have zero confidence in determining how/where to place the code within Bind. If anyone is familiar with the Bind sources sources would be willing to contact me off list it would be appreciated. In which case please email me dev at dns1.vizion2000.net. I am running freebsd v4.5 and Bind 8
