No. It's still known to the .com servers who have the definitive say on
what is and isn't in .com.

Whois is not the same as the DNS. One can be updated independently of
the other. So don't expect these "databases" to be consistent with
each other, even for the information that overlaps. Much of that data
will be exclusive to one of these protocols. For example, the DNS has
no concept of a zone expiration date. Zones can expire from servers
for protocol reasons, but there's nothing in the DNS protocol for
expressing a policy concept like "delete this zone on such-and-such a
date because somebody hasn't paid their bill".

I suppose they might remove or change delegations because of dispute
resolution procedures or litigation though you'd be better asking this
question to someone at Network Solutions.
