bind locking up problem

Hi,
I am running 8.3.3 with the patch, is that the same as 8.3.4? Late last night around the same time 2 of my 3 external name servers both hung and stopped serving data. The 2 servers having the problem are slaves.

I enabled debug via USR1 signal and got this output

evSetTimer(ctx 0x11cba8, func 0x341f4, uap 0, due 1039104830.000000000, inter 0.000000000)
evSetTimer(ctx 0x11cba8, func 0x341f4, uap 0, due 1039104830.000000000, inter 0.000000000)
evSetTimer(ctx 0x11cba8, func 0x341f4, uap 0, due 1039104830.000000000, inter 0.000000000)
evSetTimer(ctx 0x11cba8, func 0x341f4, uap 0, due 1039104830.000000000, inter 0.000000000)

over and over, not sure what it means.

The servers were previously healthy and happy and the logs indicate nothing except the ordinary recursion/update denied messages.

I restarted the name server and it didn't completely fix the problem as it is still at very high load and seems to sporadically refuse requests.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
David Sorkin
