zone files and 1D entries

No merit I know of, other than to get in the way of changing the
default TTL for records when readdressing.

Back to DNS admin after a break since 1998 - hmm well the
default is set using $TTL these days - when did that change....
May 1998... 

Read rfc2308 if you think a field in the SOA sets default time
to live.
